Do you need this update?

You only need this service if your current system does not support fullscreen Apple CarPlay.

To check your current version:

Go to Navigation > Map > press Options > select Navigation settings > Position and Version > Version Information.

If your firmware begins with a letter before N (for example NBTevo_H), this update is required to enable fullscreen CarPlay.

How it works

Choose the option that suits you best at checkout.

Option 1: Remote session

We connect to your laptop remotely and carry out the flash and activation for you. All you need to do is download the update files beforehand and have your car and ENET cable ready.

  1. Place your order: once payment is confirmed, we will send you a download link for the update files and arrange a convenient time for the session.
  2. Install a free remote access tool: we will send you a link to a lightweight utility that lets us connect to your laptop securely. No technical knowledge required.
  3. We carry out the flash and activation: at the agreed time, connect your ENET cable and we do the rest. The session typically takes under 30 minutes.

Option 2: Mail in

Remove your head unit and post it to us. We flash and activate it on our bench and return it the same day via guaranteed next-day delivery. Your car will run without warnings while the head unit is out.

  1. Place your order: remove your head unit (a straightforward DIY process) and post it to us.
  2. We carry out the work: we flash the software update and activate fullscreen CarPlay on our bench, typically completing this the same day we receive it.
  3. We return it to you: your updated head unit is sent back via guaranteed next-day delivery. Simply refit and you are ready to go.

Not sure which option to choose? The mail-in option is ideal if you do not have a Windows laptop or prefer a hands-off experience.

What you need (remote option)
  • A Windows laptop with at least 250GB of free storage
  • A BMW ENET (OBD2) cable
  • A stable internet connection
  • A battery charger is strongly recommended during the flash

ENET cables are available from Amazon and eBay for approximately £10 to £15.
